About

Hi! I’m a passionate web developer whose spent the past 12 years living and working in New York City. My experience has spanned agency work, publishing, and education technology, including organizations such as DOOR3 and WW Norton. I specialize in the overlap between development and design to create elegant applications with engaging user interfaces.

I also used to be a professional musician and still practice daily. Some of the instruments I play include drums, percussion, piano, and bass.

Michael Lewis

Front End Maint. & Updates

WW Norton is internationally known for their anthologies of literature, music, and history. Trekler

UI/UX Designer

I worked with this Brooklyn-based adventure startup to help launch their travel app. The process of designing the user interface and user experience involved everything from sketching and storyboarding to wireframes and interactive prototyping. Invision and Keynote were invaluable tools during this process and allowed for the creation of rapid prototypes at impressively high fidelity. I also designed and developed the landing page.

Flashcards

Front End Developer

In addition to creating author websites and student study spaces for WW Norton, I also contributed to the development of their adaptive learning software. Written in JavaScript and relying on CSS transitions for their animation, these flashcards are dynamic, customizable, and supported across all browsers as well as Norton’s e-reader.

Sarah Thornton

Design & Development

Sarah Thornton is an author, ethnographer, and sociologist of culture who served as the chief writer of contemporary art for The Economist. Her last book Seven Days in the Art World was an international best-seller that has been translated into 17 different languages. One of the challenges with designing this site was providing easy access to all purchasing options and critical reviews for each translation without cluttering the UI.

Envelope Music

Front End Developer

Over the years of designing and developing sites and applications I’ve worked extensively with PHP. This website was for a Brooklyn-based music house that needed to convert from a previous content management system to WordPress. The design features a sleek and simple showcase of the group's television and film work.
